Parent Informational Meeting : College Credit Now

VHS Guidance Department will host a College Credit Now information meeting for parents of current 10th and 11th grade students on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 6:00 pm in the Little Theater.  College Credit Now provides opportunities for Georgia high school students to take college-level courses and earn concurrent credit toward a high school diploma and a college degree.  Area college representatives will be in attendance to answer specific questions about their school’s ACCEL program, Dual enrollment and other college credit now opportunities.  Please contact the Guidance Department at (229) 333-8550 if you have any questions.

1. Submit application and application fee.

2. Send your SAT/ACT scores (collegeboard.org or actstudent.org) or arrange to the COMPASS if required by technical college.

3. Send transcript (gacollege411.org or vhs.gocats.org)

S.A.T. Prep Class

 

At VALDOSTA HIGH SCHOOL

 

When:  Four (4) Saturdays

February 2, February 9, February 23, March 2

 

 Where:  VHS Campus:  Enter the lunchroom on the water tower side

Teachers will meet students in the lunchroom, then proceed  

  to classes English – Room 117 Math - Room 114

    Students will divide their time between English and Math

 

Time: 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

SAT Test Prep

SAT study materials are available to any student who is planning to take the SAT. Copies of The Official SAT Study Guide by Collegeboard are available for checkout in IMC 2.  Also, registration information for The Official SAT Online Course is available in the counseling office.  Students may come to counseling office before or after school or during advisement
with a pass to obtain information about the online course.


The Valdosta High School Guidance/Counseling Department is staffed with six certified professional school counselors and two secretaries available to provide assistance with educational planning, career decision making and personal/social concerns.

9th Grade:

9th Grade Academy counselors serving all 1st year 9th grade students.
