What is CPIE?

The purpose of Community Partners In Education (CPIE) is to encourage greater student achievement in the Valdosta and Lowndes School Systems by developing partnerships between individual schools and area businesses, industries, and community groups. Specific goals of CPIE include, but are not limited to the following:

• Greater parental involvement in area schools
• Improved student attendance
• Decreased failure and dropout rates
• Improved academic performance
• Greater student awareness of career and vocational options
• Increased recognition of teachers and staff
• Increased recognition of positive role models for area students
• Improved economic development through creation of a better educated workforce
